Some of you may know that I’ve been on the lookout for a suitable princess dress for Kira for the longest time without luck. Suitable meaning – suitably sparkly, but not too over the top, and a nice price. So when Spree contacted me about their new Image Search Feature, I’d give it a whirl to find a reason to make my girl twirl. (Do you like what I did there?)

So what is this ‘Image Search Feature’ on the Spree app and how does it work? Well, it’s a feature that allows you to either take a live photo or upload and image (from anywhere) and search for a specific clothing item that you may like. Example of this: I see a picture of a sparkly princess dress on Pinterest that I’d love to get for my daughter. But where would I be able to get something like this in South Africa? Well, I can take a screenshot of the dress and upload it on the Spree app and then click ‘search’ to see if they have anything similar in their online store. Spree will list item options that are similar in colour, style and texture too and essentially helping you find similar items on Spree that you can shop right then and there. Which I did!

Here’s how easy it was for me to shop for sparkles with Spree:

Step 1: Find an image of a item that you’re looking for. I was looking for a princess dress similar to the one below in pink or purple. I found this pic on Pinterest:

Step 2: Go to the app and click ‘search’ and then click on the camera icon on the right and follow the image search guidelines:

Step 3: Upload your image and wait for Spree to do all the work. These are the options that popped up for my search. Do you spy something sparkly over there in the bottom right corner?

Step 4: I selected the red sparkly dress and found that it was available in different colours – I knew Kira would fall in love with this sequin dress in ‘Mid Pink’. It’s pink (or purple) or nothing, folks.

Step 5: Add to basket, pay and wait for delivery. Our delivery arrived the very next day!

Step 5: Give your daughter the sparkly dress and win ‘Best Mom Award’ instantly! Aren’t these sleeves gorgeous?
