I’m not looking to grow name-brand aware kids, but there is something to be said about the functional quality and consistently on point design from the Nike kids range. I’m a fan. This spring Nike’s bold-coloured basics and offbeat prints ensure that both girls and boys can be kitted out in wear that’s both fashion-forward and functional.
I’m like every other parent who likes their kids to step out looking sharp, yet at the same time I want to allow them the freedom to play without worrying that they’re going to ‘ruin their good clothes’. In our family we have invested in some quality clothing items that last long enough to pass on to the next kid and the rest of their wardrobe consists of clothes that they can wear into the ground. Bottom line is that Nike is a quality brand and worth the $$$ even for active and messy kids.
I shared on social media a little while ago that Ilan asked for running shoes for his 6th birthday so that he could start park running with me. I love that he enjoys running (although 5kms is probably a little far for a kid his age) and want to do all I can to encourage him to stay active as he grows older. So far Ilan’s takkies have proved to be hard-wearing so here’s hoping he’s as tough as his takkies!
