We did it! Three cheers to all fellow parents for surviving six weeks of school holidays! When Robertson Winery sent me a bottle of their newly launched Non-Alcoholic Dry Sparkling White Wine, I saved it for a special occasion – the final back to school countdown. Now, that’s something to celebrate! As it’s time to start getting my head back into the game, this deliciously dry sparkling wine is the perfect celebration wine because it has all of the fun without any of the alcohol.

From its very humble beginnings in 1852, the town of Robertson has always been filled with the most generous of people and the most picturesque wine farms along the Breede River. It’s a small town just two hours out of Cape Town and is the home of Robertson Winery which was established in 1941 in a converted stone church that was no longer in use.

Boasting a large variety of wines, the Robertson Non-Alcoholic Range was developed by winemaker Rianco van Rooyen, “Grapes grown in lime-rich soil, like ours, produce elegant sparkling wine with finesse. The alcohol in this wine has been carefully removed to preserve the fruity aromas and vibrant favours. Pear & mandarin come to the fore accompanied by hints of orange blossom & honeysuckle. Best enjoyed with flavoursome canapés and served well chilled.”

It’s a classy bottle of bubbly.
Deliciously dry.
Best enjoyed outdoors!

The bottle is beautifully packaged under cork (I heard a very satisfying pop when I opened the bottle, and almost took out Ryan’s left eye…) and sells for around R50 a bottle. I always opt for a dry bottle of bubbly and this bottle is the perfect non-alcoholic alternative to your usual favourite – a great option if you’ve taken on the #dryJanuary challenge or prefer to be 100% present at the party and then wake up with a clear head the next day.
