We’re just coming out of that crazy season where the default has been to keep the kids home within our own four walls as it’s just been easier for so many reasons. And although we’ve spent a great deal of time at home, I just haven’t had the capacity (or the extra bucks) to buy a plant let alone hang art on the wall. The kids are older now and don’t cling to me 24/7 and so I have a little space to get dreaming about how I’d like to add some personality to our home.

When Superbalist asked me to browse their website and choose my top five items from their apartment department, I got lost in a rabbit hole scrolling through all the beautiful home decor items – and so many of them are currently on offer which is a massive temptation!

Here are a few items I have wishlisted – and yes, it’s more than five! I’m a bit of a magpie, naturally gravitating towards shiny things, and I also love a good pop of colour and so as a result our home is a little mismatched, but not necessarily in a good way. The items I’ve chosen include natural wood and monochrome tones in an attempt to bring our place together.

Nila Cushion Cover

Good geometric black and white cushions are still on trend.

Seaford Bookcase – Natural Black

I love this. We currently have a dark wood shelf in our lounge that we repainted white but has become the dumping ground for wallets, sunnies and library books. I think this beautiful shelf would inspire us to keep everything neat and tidy.

Woodlike Floor Lamp

We need one of these, it’s that simple, and I like the look of this one.

Mink Faux Fur Throw – Charcoal

Right now it feels like the Cape winter will never end and so it’s still worth investing in a warm, comfy throw. This one looks next level and I have a feeling Ryan will embrace the grey to replace the plum purple one from my pre-marriage life days.

Tosca Accessory Stand

Yes please! How cool is this? Mama needs one of these to organise my bedside table.

Upright Table Lamp Set

These are great and affordable too (currently R454 on offer). Ryan’s bedside lamp got knocked over by a kid’s flying foot and keeps collapsing to the side now with even the slightest nudge.

Para Throw Red

And then because I do love a touch of colour, how lovely is this throw to keep me company when I’m plopped on the couch with a glass of wine and Netflix?

What do you think of my selection? You can buy now on the Superbalist website or app – online shopping at it’s best! Happy scrolling!
